What We Treat

Headaches

Headache affects approximately two-thirds of the population through a number of differing causes. The most common causes are viral illness, migraine, cervical headache and stress/tension headache. Physiotherapists can determine whether your headache is coming from structures in your neck.

Headache of cervical origin can be located at the base of the skull, behind the eyes or in the temples, or even at the top of your head. If we can find tender points in your neck we can certainly help. This problem is most frequently related to poor postural positioning of your neck.

Treatment usually involves massage of tightened muscles, mobilisation of stiff joints in the top of your neck, and teaching you the appropriate stretching and strengthening exercises to improve your flexibility and correct your posture. You will probably feel better straight away.
